Nautis vs Agently: keep your tools or bring them together

Agently works across the tools you already pay for. Nautis holds the records itself. Compare approvals, pricing and credits for your own setup.

Summarise

This page means Agently at agently.dev, from Agently, Inc., the AI chief of staff built around an agent called Jarvis. If you found another product with that name, this comparison isn't about it.

Of all the products in this category, this is one of the closest to the Nautis Chief of Staff in purpose. Both brief you in the morning, draft work, and hold consequential actions for a person to approve. The real split is architectural. Agently reads and writes in the systems you already have. Nautis is itself the system, with an assistant inside it. Details below come from Agently's site, docs and changelog as read on October 31, 2026.

Where should your company's records live?

Start here, because the answer narrows the choice fast. If your deals are in Salesforce or HubSpot, billing is in Stripe, and your team lives in Slack, replacing all that for an assistant is a poor trade. Agently's premise fits you: a hundred sources through OAuth, by its own count, feeding what it calls a Brain, with work pushed back into the original tools. Its homepage example has dunning paused in Stripe, a reply drafted in email and a renewal date moved in Salesforce.

If your records are in spreadsheets, inboxes and your own head, an assistant across your tools has little to read. That is the case for Nautis: task boards, a fundraising CRM, Startup Health, invoices, expenses, a leads CRM, data rooms and more, already connected. You move in, and the AI Chief of Staff reads what you put there. Nautis also connects to 1,000+ outside apps through a managed catalog, but it's strongest when the records sit inside it.

How do approvals differ?

Both hold risky actions for a person, but they draw the line in different places. Your choice here should reflect how much you trust software with your name on it.

Agently

When you ask for something in your own chat, Jarvis does it. It asks first for an action you didn't request if that action sends anything to other people, deletes or archives anything, merges code, or uses a custom connector tool not marked read-only. You answer Allow once, Always allow or Deny. You can also set a line such as a refund threshold, so its homepage example holds a $240 refund for review because it's over $200. Routines ask before sending unless the creator set them to run unattended, and its chief of staff page says anything in an unattended routine that would leave the company still stops in the approvals queue.

Nautis

Capabilities default to Ask every time, and owners and admins can change each to Run without asking under Agent Autonomy. Those runs are logged in AI Activity and can be undone within 10 minutes where supported. Deleting always asks. Drafts from the briefing always get a card, and emails show recipients and full text first. Nautis has no monetary threshold of the kind Agently describes, as far as its guides show. More on this design in human-in-the-loop AI agents.

Agently's model feels faster once trust is built. The Nautis default costs more review time and gives a nervous founder a calmer start.

Pricing and what a credit buys

Agently is simpler at list price, with one paid plan. Nautis has three. Both meter AI through credits, and those credits are not comparable units, so don't divide one by the other. We read these figures in October 2026.

Agently also lets every plan use its own Anthropic or OpenAI API key, sells credit packs from $10 for 500 credits, and on Pro lets you run chats on your own Claude Code, Codex or OpenCode plan. That can be a real saving for a technical team already paying for those. In Nautis, when credits run out, sending is blocked until they reset or you top up. Both prices also sit on top of different costs: Agently assumes you keep paying for your other tools, while Nautis may replace some. A tool consolidation playbook can help you count that properly.

A Tuesday at an eight-person B2B company

Say you're the CEO of an eight-person company selling to mid-size firms. Pipeline is in HubSpot, invoices run through Stripe, everyone is in Slack and Outlook. A customer's card has failed twice, and two investors are waiting on an update.

With Agently: the Needs you list ranks the customer's email and the Slack mention, with how long each has waited. A routine you set up flags the failed charge, drafts the note and holds anything past your line. You approve, and the reply goes out in Outlook. Nobody had to move data. The investor update can be a monthly routine producing a draft from connected tools.

With Nautis: the same company would first have to move its pipeline and invoicing in, or live with partial visibility. After that, the 7:00 am briefing shows the overdue invoice with a reminder action, runway beside it, and fundraising signals from the investor CRM. Do it creates a card to review, unless autonomy allows that action. The investor conversations sit in the same workspace as the data room, including who opened which file.

For this company, Agently is the shorter path, and we'd say so. Reverse the setup, with a three-person team on Google Sheets about to raise, and Nautis comes out ahead because nothing needs integrating.

What to check about Agently's early access

  • Access is by request. Its pricing page says new workspaces open by request for now, and the founders say they read each request. You can't assume a same-day start.
  • Google accounts may need a word with them. Its integrations page says the Google app is still in verification, capped at 100 test users, and asks you to tell them if you want Gmail, Calendar or Drive.
  • Gmail reads aren't available yet. The docs describe Gmail as send-only, with Outlook able to read mail. A Gmail-based company should weigh this first, because its to-do list is described as reading Outlook mail, Slack mentions and Linear or Jira issues.
  • The Mac app needs Apple Silicon and macOS 13 or later, per its FAQ. The FAQ describes it as early access, with access by request, and the changelog dates its release to October 11, 2026.
  • Movement is fast. The changelog shows Approvals, the Mac app, Draft reply and hands-free Jarvis mode all dated October 10 to 13, 2026. That's a good sign of pace, and it also means these pages may change soon.

Where each one is stronger

Agently goes further on

  • Working in tools you won't give up, with an audit record of each action
  • Ranking per person, with personal mail kept private from admins
  • Bringing your own model keys, and using its Brain from Claude Code or Cursor
  • A $0 way in once you have access
  • Voice on the web and Mac on Pro, and a hands-free Jarvis mode on your phone

Nautis goes further on

  • Holding fundraising end to end: directory, pipeline, readiness score, deck analysis and data room analytics
  • Having the operational modules without buying them elsewhere, including invoices, expenses, jobs and employee records
  • Up to 25 members on one plan, against Agently Pro's 10
  • WhatsApp approvals in Hindi and Hinglish, for workspaces where it's switched on

Nautis has weaknesses of its own here. Since launching publicly in July 2026 it has gathered few independent reviews. It's wide, so your CRM or finance tool of choice will likely be deeper in its area. And moving into it is work that Agently doesn't ask of you.

A five-step way to settle it

  1. List where your customers, invoices, investors and tasks live right now.
  2. If most are in paid tools you like, request Agently access and check its integration list against yours, especially if you use Gmail.
  3. If most are in spreadsheets or nowhere, start the Nautis 14-day trial and fill two modules with real data before judging the briefing.
  4. If you're raising in the next six months, weigh fundraising heavily, because that's where the two differ most.
  5. If you only want tidier email, try a dedicated assistant and read what an AI chief of staff cannot do first.

FAQ

Is Agently or Nautis closer to a real chief of staff?

Both cover the sorting, briefing, drafting and chasing, and neither replaces human judgment about people. Agently does it across your existing tools, while Nautis does it across its own modules. Agently's own page says a human is still the right hire for running a reorg or managing a board relationship, and we agree.

How much does Agently cost?

As of October 2026, there is a $0 tier with 200 credits and 3 connected apps, and Pro at $99 a month billed monthly with 3,000 credits, 10 connected apps, 10 GB of storage and up to 10 members. Credit packs start at $10 for 500 credits. New workspaces open by request.

Which is better in Nautis vs Agently for a company on Gmail?

Check Agently's status first, because its docs describe Gmail as send-only and its Google app as still in verification. Nautis connects Google or Microsoft during Liftoff setup and has its own MailBox. A company on Outlook doesn't face this question.

Does Agently act without approval?

When you ask for something in your own chat, it does it. For actions you didn't ask for that send to other people, delete, merge code or use unmarked custom connectors, it asks with Allow once, Always allow or Deny. A routine asks before sending unless its creator set it to run unattended, and its chief of staff page says anything in an unattended routine that would leave the company still waits for approval.

Can I use Agently and Nautis together?

You could, though you'd be paying for two assistants that want the same morning. It makes more sense to pick one place for the daily list. If you run Nautis as your records system, give the other product a narrow job, or skip it.
