Capabilities

What you can do with Task Boards

Everything ships out of the box. No setup, no plugins, no extra tools.

Themed boards

Group tasks under a single objective — quarterly launches, hiring plans, fundraises, compliance pushes.

Outcomes & KPI templates

Pre-built templates seed your board with the right outcome and KPI tasks.

Progress, priority, due dates

Each board carries a live progress bar, priority, due date, and category.

Comments & attachments

Discuss work where the work lives — every task has its own thread and file uploads.

Shared access

Pick the teammates who can open and edit each board; admins always have access.

Quick start

From zero to using Task Boards

  1. 1

Templates pre-fill outcome and KPI tasks; blank boards start clean.

  2. 2

    Add tasks and owners

Each task carries an owner, due date, and priority.

  3. 3

    Drag through the workflow

Move tasks through your board's stages until everything is done.

  4. 4

    Review the progress bar

Each board surfaces a live completion percentage at the top.

Task Boards questions

Is this the same as the old Milestones?+

Yes — Task Boards is the modern name for what used to be 'Milestones'. Everything you had still works.

Why can't I change a task's type after creating it?+

Outcome tasks (pass/fail) and KPI tasks (number tracking) have different data fields. Switching types after the fact would leave fields empty or invalid, so Nautis locks the type at creation. Delete and add a new one if you need to switch.

What's the difference between completing a task and completing a board?+

Completing a task marks that single item done. Completing a board moves the board's overall status to Completed, usually after all its tasks are done. You can mark a board Completed even with some open tasks — the progress bar just reflects that.

How is the board's progress calculated?+

Each task contributes to the total. Outcome tasks count as 100% when done. KPI tasks count by how close the current number is to the target. The board's headline number is the average across all tasks.

Can teammates see boards I haven't shared with them?+

No. Only people on the board's Shared Access list (and admins) can open it. If a teammate can't see a board, edit the board details and add them.

What happens when I delete a board?+

Tasks, discussion, attachments, and activity are all permanently removed. Nautis asks you to confirm. If you might need the data later, duplicate the board first.

Can I archive a board instead of deleting it?+

Set the status to Cancelled or Completed. The board moves out of your active view but the data is preserved, and you can filter back to it any time.

Can I share a board with just a couple of teammates?+

Yes. Each board has its own Shared Access list — anyone not on it (besides admins) won't see the board.
