HubSpot is a mature customer platform that says it has over 306,000 customers in more than 135 countries. Nautis is a young AI business operating system that launched publicly on Product Hunt in July 2026, with a sales CRM as one module among many. If you are comparing the two as CRMs, HubSpot wins, and we'd tell a friend the same.
People still compare them, because a seed founder choosing a first system of record has a different question: do I need a CRM now, or something that also holds the rest of the company? This page takes that question seriously. HubSpot details come from its own product and pricing pages, read in October 2026. Its pricing pages load in the browser, so we read the rendered text.
Is the Nautis Leads CRM a HubSpot replacement?
If you have a sales team, no. The Nautis Leads CRM gives you pipelines, custom stages, a Kanban and table view, deal values in several currencies, a forecast panel, a sales leaderboard, win and loss analysis, simple automation rules and CSV import and export. That covers a founder running their first deals. It doesn't approach what a sales organization needs from HubSpot.
The Nautis guides don't cover email sequences, contact enrichment, a support ticket desk, landing pages or email marketing, and we found no email sequence feature in the app's code either. HubSpot lists all of these. If any of them is why you are shopping, stop here and use a real CRM.
If you have no sales team and a handful of live deals in a spreadsheet, the answer changes. The Leads CRM may be enough for now, and it sits next to everything else you need to look at.
Nautis vs HubSpot on customer work
| Customer job | HubSpot | Nautis |
|---|---|---|
| Contacts and companies | Contact records, activity logging, communication history. 1,000 contacts on the $0 tier | Contacts with folders, sharing, vCard export and business card scanning. Your organization may have a monthly limit |
| Pipeline | Deal tracking, deal board, forecasting by likelihood to close | Pipelines with custom stages, forecast panel, leaderboard. Limited on Launch |
| Email outreach | Templates, tracking and sequences, with limits by edition | Send from MailBox with AI drafting. Sequences aren't covered in the guides |
| Marketing | Marketing email, forms, landing pages, ad management, live chat | Custom forms, social calendar and a URL shortener |
| Customer support | Tickets in a shared inbox, chatbots, an AI customer agent | Not covered in the guides |
| AI agents in the CRM | AI assistant, plus prospecting, customer and data agents | Chief of Staff, Commodore and advisors, working across all modules |
| Reporting | Dashboards and custom reports, up to 500 listed on a higher edition | Pipeline metrics, win and loss analysis, currency analytics |
| Integrations | Over 2,000 apps in its marketplace | 1,000+ apps through a managed catalog, HubSpot among them |
| Payments | Payment links in the CRM | Invoices module, separate from lead records |
HubSpot's depth isn't a feature count alone. Its marketing, sales and service tools share one record, so a lead can move from a form to a sequence to a ticket without anyone exporting anything. The Nautis guides describe no such chain.
What HubSpot's pages don't try to cover
A founder's week holds a lot that isn't a customer. The HubSpot pages we read don't list an investor pipeline, investor readiness, a pitch deck analyzer, cap table, runway tracking, expense tracking, team chat, employee records, or data rooms as part of the platform. You could shape a pipeline to track investors, but you would be building those steps yourself.
Nautis has those. A Fundraising CRM for investors sits next to Startup Health for runway, and the Chief of Staff can tell you in one 7:00 am briefing that a deal slipped, an invoice is overdue and runway is shorter than it was last month. Those arrive together only because the records live together.
This is the honest case for Nautis against a far stronger CRM. You give up depth to get one view of the business. Whether that trade is worth it depends mostly on how many people you have selling.
What will you pay at 5, 10 and 25 people?
HubSpot's entry price can be lower than Nautis, so don't assume the all-in-one is cheaper. HubSpot charges by the seat and Nautis by the plan. Prices below are as of October 2026, HubSpot's are in US dollars before any applicable tax, and HubSpot's Starter price is a discount for new customers that it says is available for a limited time.
| Team | HubSpot Starter, $7 a seat, paid annually | HubSpot Starter, $10 a seat, monthly | HubSpot Starter at standard $20 | Nautis |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 5 | $35 | $50 | $100 | Launch, $49 |
| 10 | $70 | $100 | $200 | Voyage, $99 |
| 25 | $175 | $250 | $500 | Fleet, $129 |
A few things change that picture. HubSpot's $0 tier covers 2 users and 1,000 contacts with no expiry, and no card is needed. Nautis can't match that: there is no free tier, just a 14-day trial with no card. If two founders are the only people touching customers, HubSpot costs nothing, and that is hard to argue with.
Going up a level moves the numbers a long way. Sales Hub Professional shows $90 and $100 a seat, depending on billing, plus a one-time $1,500 onboarding fee. Enterprise starts at $150 a seat with a $3,500 onboarding fee. The page we read didn't label clearly which Professional price matches which billing cycle. Five seats on Professional come to $450 to $500 a month, against $49 on Launch, but those are very different products. HubSpot's CRM product page shows another ladder, with Starter from $15 a seat, Professional from $50 and Enterprise from $75 a month and no billing cycle named, so check which product a quote covers. HubSpot meters AI as well: Sales Hub pricing lists 500, 3,000 and 5,000 HubSpot Credits a month by edition, with more at $0.010 a credit.
Nautis limits sit elsewhere. Plans cap AI credits at 1,000, 2,000 and 2,600 a month, and leads pipelines are limited on Launch. So a large outbound motion would hit limits in a tool that was never designed for it.
Two startups, two different answers
A two-person seed startup with 15 live deals
The founders sell, raise, hire and pay the bills themselves. They could use HubSpot's $0 tier for deals, plus a spreadsheet for investors, plus a tool for tasks, and that may be fine for a while. With Nautis at $49, deals, investors, tasks and runway sit in one place, and the briefing joins them up. We'd lean to Nautis only if fundraising is close or cash is a worry. If the only real concern is closing those 15 deals, take HubSpot's $0 tier and keep moving.
A 20-person Series A company with four sellers and a marketer
Choose HubSpot, or another dedicated CRM. Those people need sequences, tracked email, forms and reports that a Leads CRM won't provide. Nautis could still be useful to the founder and the operations person for runway, investor records and company tasks, but it shouldn't be where sellers work. Paying for 5 HubSpot seats instead of 20 keeps the cost sensible.
HubSpot for Startups: what the program page says
HubSpot runs a startup program that you apply to, split by stage. Its page describes Seed as under $2M raised and Series A as over $2M. It promises resources, a peer community and "offers and discounts", and it counts more than 35,000 startups on the platform and over 300 unicorns.
The page says Seed and Series A founders get 90% off year one. Its eligibility section, as rendered, adds 50% off the second year and 25% off the third, for startups that raised pre-seed, seed or Series A funding and are affiliated with an approved partner or have verified venture funding. A separate track gives 30% off year one and 15% off year two through approved entrepreneurial organizations. Pricing applies to net-new Professional or Enterprise products only and requires an annual commitment. Its FAQ calls the discount period typically two years, so ask for the actual rate and when it ends, because the price you pay after the first year matters more than the first invoice. HubSpot's point that you won't need to migrate later is a fair one too. Moving a CRM at 30 people is painful, and moving away from a young all-in-one could be just as painful.
Can you run Nautis and HubSpot together?
Yes, in a limited way, and for many companies this is the sensible end state. HubSpot is named as an example in the Nautis integrations catalog. You connect it on HubSpot's own sign-in screen, then decide whether to enable it for agents, and writes ask for approval by default. The guide doesn't list which HubSpot actions are available, so test the ones you need during the trial.
If you pair them, draw a firm line. Customers and deals live in HubSpot, and sellers never open Nautis. Investors, runway, company tasks and team records live in Nautis. Leave the Leads CRM empty, or you will have two pipelines that disagree. One side effect is that the Nautis briefing won't see HubSpot's pipeline the way it sees its own Leads CRM, so check how much of the morning view you lose.
Where each one is the wrong call
- HubSpot is the wrong call if you have almost no customer work yet and the urgent problems are a raise, a burn rate or a messy team. A CRM won't help with those, and setting it up becomes a way to feel busy.
- Nautis is the wrong call if you run outbound at volume, rely on marketing automation, have a support team, or have more than 25 people who need access. Its maturity also counts against it here, since few independent reviews exist.
- Both are the wrong call if you are pre-product with three interested people. A note and a calendar will do. See the first-time founders page for what to set up and when.
To work out what you could stop paying for, try the tool tax calculator with your real subscriptions. If you already run HubSpot well, the tool consolidation playbook explains why you shouldn't move a tool that is working.
FAQ
Is Nautis better than HubSpot?
As a CRM, no. HubSpot goes much deeper in sales, marketing and service. Nautis covers more of a startup outside customers, such as investors, runway and tasks. In Nautis vs HubSpot, the better pick depends on whether customer work is your main need.
Is HubSpot free for startups?
Its $0 tier covers up to 2 users and 1,000 contacts with no expiry and no card. Beyond that, Starter shows $7 a seat paid annually, or $10 month to month, for new customers for a limited time, with a standard price of $20. Its startup program, which you apply to, lists 90% off year one for eligible funded startups on net-new Professional or Enterprise products, with an annual commitment.
Does Nautis have email sequences like HubSpot?
The Nautis guides don't cover email sequences, and we found no such feature in the app's code. You can send email from MailBox with AI drafting and use automation rules in the Leads CRM. If outbound sequences are central to your sales, use a dedicated CRM.
Can Nautis connect to HubSpot?
HubSpot appears as an example in the Nautis integrations catalog of 1,000+ apps. You sign in on HubSpot's screen and then decide whether agents can use it, with writes asking for approval by default. The guide doesn't list specific HubSpot actions.
When should a startup move from a simple CRM to HubSpot?
A good trigger is your first dedicated seller or marketer. Those people need sequences, tracking, forms and reports. Until then, a founder's small pipeline can sit in a simple tool, whichever one that is.
