This page compares Nautis with Agentfounder, the macOS app at agentfounder.ai that gives each of your products its own autonomous AI co-founder. Its site says it was built by a human and an AI on Claude Code, and it's sold in a Founding Beta.
They rarely do the same job. One writes software and answers customers from a machine on your desk, the other keeps a startup's plans, money, investors and people in one web workspace. Plenty of founders may want parts of both, so we also say where they overlap. Agentfounder facts come from its homepage, setup guide, use-case page and changelog, read in October 2026.

How does Agentfounder work?
Agentfounder works between your conversations on a schedule. You give a workspace a one-sentence mission, and sessions run hourly or as you set, with memory carried between them. The app's Runs feature writes plans as waves, each with a required result, and its changelog says a wave closes only when an evaluator confirms that result. There's a live conversation mode too, where you can pick the model and paste in screenshots or files.
It acts through a per-company browser. You sign in once to Gmail, Stripe, LinkedIn or Shopify in the Browser tab, and the agent uses those sessions, with a log of the pages it visited and replays. Telegram and Slack can carry updates and approvals. The changelog shows it building iOS apps in the Simulator and shipping to TestFlight, and turning Slack threads and meeting commitments into routed signals with drafted replies.
The site's memory wiki is stored on your Mac and is editable by you. Outgoing email, store submissions and any site marked ask-first wait for your approval, and any company can be paused with one click.
How Nautis handles the same week
Nautis doesn't build your product. Its guides don't describe an agent that writes or ships code, though you can connect GitHub and Linear through the integration catalog so agents can, for example, create a Linear issue. Instead it holds what surrounds the product: task boards, a fundraising CRM, runway in Startup Health, invoices, expenses, contacts, data rooms, employee records and a Decision Loop.
The Chief of Staff reads across those records each morning. If a big customer's invoice is overdue and runway has shrunk, both can appear in one list with a suggested action. Routines add recurring jobs, and a board room puts 2 to 6 advisors in one conversation. Every write goes to an approval card by default, unless an owner or admin sets that capability to Run without asking.
Price, and what's really being paid for
Agentfounder's Founding Beta is $99 a month for the first 10 customers, with a one-on-one install with its founder and the promise that the price holds while you stay subscribed. After that it lists $299 a month per seat. There's a 30-day money-back guarantee and you can cancel at any time. AI usage isn't included: you bring your own Claude plan and that bill stays separate, so add it to your sums.
Nautis lists Launch at $49, Voyage at $99 and Fleet at $129 a month as of October 2026, for 5, 10 and 25 members. That price includes 1,000, 2,000 or 2,600 AI credits, and sending stops when they run out until they reset or you top up. There's a 14-day trial with no card, and no free tier.
| Option | Monthly | Who it covers | AI usage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Agentfounder Founding Beta | $99 | First 10 customers | Your own Claude plan |
| Agentfounder after beta | $299 | Per seat | Your own Claude plan |
| Nautis Launch | $49 | Up to 5 members | 1,000 credits included |
| Nautis Voyage | $99 | Up to 10 members | 2,000 credits included |
| Nautis Fleet | $129 | Up to 25 members | 2,600 credits included |
Seat count settles this for most teams. A founder alone may find $299 fair if the software replaces a contractor. A team of six on per-seat pricing pays far more than a flat Nautis plan, though the two aren't buying the same thing.
Two founders, two right answers
A solo developer with two SaaS products
She has customers, a Mac, a Claude Max plan and more bug reports than hours. Investors aren't part of the plan. Agentfounder fits: one workspace per product, sessions overnight, a queue of decisions at breakfast. Nautis would give her tidy records, and it wouldn't fix a bug. Our pick here is Agentfounder.
A four-person company raising a seed round
This team has a developer who already ships, and a founder losing track of 40 investor conversations, a cap table and six weeks of runway questions. Agentfounder's use-case page doesn't mention fundraising, and we didn't see an investor directory or a cap table on the pages we read. Nautis has Find Investors, the CRM and investor readiness, and a cap table on Voyage. Our pick here is Nautis.
What Agentfounder does better
- It builds and ships. Code, iOS apps, TestFlight builds and experiments are the core job. Nautis guides don't cover any of that.
- It works through your logged-in accounts. A browser with saved sessions reaches sites that have no integration at all.
- Plans with gates. Waves that close only on a confirmed result give a long job a clear structure.
- Local control. The memory wiki sits on your Mac, and you can read and edit it. If you want your agent's notes on your own machine, that's a clear plus.
- Several companies at once. Separate workspaces per product or client suit a studio or an agency. In Nautis, each company is its own organization.
What Nautis does better, and where it falls short
Nautis covers business functions that Agentfounder's app pages don't describe, though its site has stand-alone runway and equity split calculators: fundraising tools, a cap table, runway tracking, employee management with pay runs, a team chat, burnout check-ins and a Leads CRM. It's built for a team, with roles, per-organization connections and an audit log. It also doesn't depend on one computer being awake or on Mac ownership.
Now the limits. Nautis reached Product Hunt in July 2026, and there are few independent reviews. It won't write your product. With Ask every time as the default, someone has to keep reviewing cards, so it isn't hands-off, and Agentfounder's schedule is built to be more independent than that. It's broad, so a specialist CRM or accounting tool goes deeper. It isn't an accounting system or a payroll provider, and the briefing skips sources with no data, so a quiet workspace gives you a thin morning. For more on what these tools can't do, read what an AI Chief of Staff cannot do.
Can you use both?
Yes, because they barely collide. A technical founder could run Agentfounder on the product and keep company records, investors and runway in Nautis. Nautis also has an MCP connector and API keys for Claude and ChatGPT, which may matter if you already work in Claude Code. Agentfounder's pages don't describe a Nautis link, and we haven't tested the two together, so treat this as two separate subscriptions.
If you only have the budget for one, ask what would hurt most if it slipped for a month. If that's the product, buy Agentfounder. If it's the raise, the cash or the team, buy Nautis.
FAQ
What is the main difference in Nautis vs Agentfounder?
Agentfounder is a Mac app whose agents build and run a product on a schedule through Claude Code. Nautis is a web workspace that holds a startup's fundraising, finance, team and planning records, with an AI Chief of Staff that briefs you each morning.
How much does Agentfounder cost?
As of October 2026 the Founding Beta is $99 a month for the first 10 customers, then $299 a month per seat. You also need your own Claude plan, since AI usage isn't included. There's a 30-day money-back guarantee.
Does Agentfounder work on Windows?
Its pages list macOS only, on Apple Silicon or Intel. The Mac needs to stay awake and plugged in while work is scheduled. Check its site for changes, since the app is in beta and is updated often.
Can Nautis write code like Agentfounder?
The Nautis guides don't describe code writing or shipping. Agents can act in connected tools such as Linear and GitHub after approval, but the product is built for running company operations, so you'd still need a developer or a coding agent.
Does Agentfounder need approval before it acts?
Its site says outgoing email, store submissions and any site you mark ask-first wait for your OK, and decisions land in a Needs you list with defaults and deadlines. Other work runs on the schedule. You can pause a company with one click.
