You're right to be doubtful. "All-in-one" costs nothing to print on a homepage, and a product can earn the label with a thin notes page and a kanban board. We make Nautis, which sits in this category, so point the same doubt at us. There's a section below that does.
What follows is a test you can run in an afternoon during any trial, a grid of what five products list, and a look at exit costs, which few people price before buying. For products grouped by stage, use the all-in-one roundup. Everything here comes from published information. Nobody ran a scored hands-on test.
Five questions that expose a thin all-in-one
Ask these in order. The first takes a minute, and it ends a lot of sales conversations on its own.
- Which three subscriptions would you cancel on day 30? Name them before the demo, with their monthly cost. If you can't name three, the bundle saves you nothing, whatever the comparison chart says.
- Does one record show up in two modules? Create a customer. Send them an invoice. Put a task against them. If you retype the name each time, you've bought several apps with a shared login.
- What does each module say it can't do? Read the help docs, not the feature page. Good docs contain lines like "payment is collected outside" or "there's no real-time co-editing". A vendor with no stated limits either hasn't written them down or doesn't want you to read them.
- What's the bill at next year's headcount? Price today's team, then the team you plan to have in 18 months. Include usage credits, add-ons and setup services, and check whether every employee must hold a licence.
- How do you get out? Export one real module during the trial and open the file. If you couldn't rebuild your work from it, you've learned your actual switching cost while it's still cheap.
Two failures and we'd walk away. A failure on question one is the most common, and it's usually a sign that you wanted a better process and were shopping for software.
Coverage grid: Notion, ClickUp, Zoho One, Odoo and Nautis
This grid records what each vendor's own pages said on 2 November 2026. "Not listed" means we didn't find it on the pages we read, which isn't proof that it can't be done.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Docs | Docs | Docs | Writer, WorkDrive | Knowledge, Documents | Notes, Sheets |
| Tasks and projects | Projects, with tasks and sub-tasks | Tasks, with automations | Projects | Project, Timesheet | Task boards, Outcome workflows |

| AI agents | Custom Agents, Notion Agent on Business | Super Agents | Zia assistant | AI scanning on prepaid credits | Chief of Staff, Routines, advisors |
Read the columns as shapes. Notion and ClickUp are built around work and documents. Zoho One and Odoo reach deep into the back office. Nautis aims at founder-run companies, so fundraising is in and bookkeeping is out. Pick the shape that matches where your company hurts, and don't count filled cells.
Depth vs breadth: what a filled cell really means
A filled cell can mean a mature product or a weekend's work. Four examples show how wide that gap gets, using each vendor's own words.
- ClickUp and CRM. Its sales page says ClickUp "can stand in" for a CRM entirely, and in the same FAQ says most sales teams use it to run the work behind deals, keeping the CRM as the official record of closed deals. That's a fair description of the depth, and worth believing.
- Notion and CRM. Its marketplace lists 2,171 CRM templates. A template is a starting point that you maintain yourself, so nobody but you fixes it when your pipeline changes.
- Odoo and setup. Accounting, payroll and CRM all appear on its app list, which is real depth. Its pricing page also says implementation services aren't included. For a company without a finance lead, the setup may cost more than the licences.
- Nautis and spreadsheets. Sheets has formulas, imports and share links, and its guide says plainly that there's no real-time co-editing. Fine for a tracker. A shared financial model that three people edit at once belongs elsewhere.
Our rule of thumb: find the function where a mistake costs you the most, usually money or legal, and insist on depth there. Accept thin coverage in the rest. If the bundle is thin exactly where your risk sits, keep a specialist for that one job and judge the bundle on what remains.
What does an all-in-one startup platform cost at 12 people?
We chose 12 people because it's a plausible size about a year after a seed round, and it's past Nautis's 10-member Voyage plan. Prices are as of November 2026. The Odoo page displayed rupees when we read it, so that row is in rupees. These products cover different ground, so the totals aren't like for like.
| Product | Plan and listed rate | 12 people | What you'd still pay for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Notion | Business, $20 per member. Yearly billing saves up to 20% | $240 | CRM depth, invoicing, accounting, HR, chat, email |
| ClickUp | Business, $17 per user, billed yearly. Core is $9 | $204, or $108 on Core | Accounting, HR, payroll, email |
| Zoho One | Standard with flexible users, US$90 per user, annual licensing | $1,080 | Little within its scope, plus staff time to set it up |
| Odoo | Standard, Rs 580 per user on yearly billing, with a discount valid 12 months | Rs 6,960 | Implementation help, and in-app credits for extras like SMS |
| Nautis | Fleet, $129 flat for up to 25 members | $129 | Accounting, a payroll provider, and any deeper specialist tools |
Zoho also sells an All Employee option that requires a licence for everyone on payroll. We couldn't see its price on the page we read today, so it isn't in the table. Notice that the cheapest line isn't automatically the cheapest company. If a $129 workspace leaves you paying for accounting and payroll separately, add those before you compare. The tool tax calculator helps with that sum.
Exit costs: the price of leaving
Bundles lock you in more than single tools do, because leaving means replacing several things at once. Check what each vendor's documentation says you can take with you.
| Product | What you can export | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Notion | Pages as Markdown, HTML or PDF. Full-page databases as CSV. A whole workspace from desktop or web | Only the current or default view of a database exports. Form views can't be exported |
| ClickUp | Couldn't confirm. Its help page refused our request | Ask during the trial, and run an export yourself |
| Zoho One | Couldn't confirm for the suite. It's many apps, so check each one you depend on | Run a test export for each app you plan to rely on |
| Odoo | Excel or CSV from list views, with saved export templates | Its docs warn that large exports can time out, so split them |
| Nautis | CSV for lead pipelines, contacts, task boards and expenses. Excel or CSV for sheets. PDF or Word for notes. Credentials as an encrypted file or CSV | We found no single export-everything option in the guides, so you'd leave module by module |
Files are the cheap part. The expensive part is what doesn't export: links between records, automations, permissions, and the habits of everyone who learned the tool. Allow time for those when you estimate. As an illustration, if moving each module takes a person two days and you rely on eight modules, that's more than three working weeks of someone's time. The tool consolidation playbook covers how to sequence a move.
Running the same test on Nautis
Here are our own answers to the five questions, with the parts that don't flatter us left in.
- What you'd cancel. Possibly a CRM, a form builder, a link shortener, a data room tool or a task app. You can't cancel accounting software or a payroll provider. If those are your biggest bills, savings will be small.
- Connected records. The Chief of Staff Briefing reads tasks, pipeline, runway, invoices and more from one workspace, which is the main reason to consider it. A decision can link to one task-board milestone, and a chat message can become a task.
- Stated limits. They're in the guides. Payment on invoices is collected outside Nautis. Sheets has no live co-editing. MailBox needs an email provider behind it, because it's a client and doesn't host your mail.
- Next year's bill. Flat plans at $49, $99 and $129 a month as of November 2026, for 5, 10 and 25 members. AI credits are capped at 1,000, 2,000 and 2,600 a month, and running out blocks chat until they reset or you top up. There's no published plan past 25 members, so a company growing beyond that has to move.
- Getting out. Exports exist, module by module, as the table above shows.
Two more cautions. Breadth comes at a price, so a dedicated tool will often go deeper than the matching Nautis module. And Nautis launched publicly in July 2026, so there are few independent reviews to check our claims against. A 14-day trial with no card lets you run this test yourself.
When to skip the bundle altogether
- You have one real pain. Sales is a mess and everything else is fine, so buy a CRM. A bundle solves problems you don't have and adds a migration you don't need.
- You employ specialists. A finance lead or a head of people will want their own tool, and they'll be right. Each one who opts out removes value from the bundle.
- You need an ERP. Stock, manufacturing or multi-entity accounting point to Odoo alternatives or Zoho One, and not to a startup workspace.
- Your team lives in docs and tickets. Look at Notion or ClickUp. Both have $0 versions, so you can find out cheaply.
- You're two people with no customers yet. You don't have the records to connect. Email, a doc and a spreadsheet will do for now. The startup operating system roundup is for when that changes.
FAQ
What is an all-in-one startup platform?
It's a single subscription that covers several company functions, such as tasks, CRM, finance and documents. The term has no fixed meaning, so one product may offer a full ERP and another a set of light modules. Compare the depth in the function that matters most to you.
Is an all in one startup platform worth it before product-market fit?
Usually not, unless you're also raising money and running finance yourself and the scattered records are costing you. Before customers, there's little to connect, and a doc and a spreadsheet are enough. The case gets stronger when you can name three subscriptions it would replace.
Which all-in-one tools include accounting?
On the pages we read as of November 2026, Zoho One lists Books and Odoo lists Accounting. ClickUp offers a QuickBooks sync, and Notion doesn't list accounting on the pages we read. Nautis has invoices and expenses but no bookkeeping or tax filing, so a Nautis customer still needs accounting software.
How do I check whether I can leave a platform later?
Export one real module during the trial and open the file. Check whether the records, links and history survive, and read the vendor's export documentation for limits. Then estimate the staff time needed to move automations, permissions and habits, because those don't come with the file.
Is Nautis a complete replacement for all my software?
No. It doesn't do bookkeeping, tax filing, statutory payroll or moving money, and it doesn't host email. Dedicated tools will often go deeper in CRM, project management and cap table administration. It suits small startups that value one connected view over the deepest tool in each function.
