What it does
The command palette is a keyboard-driven launcher for jumping anywhere in Nautis. Open it from anywhere, start typing what you want, and hit Enter to navigate or trigger an action. It is the fastest way to move around when you know the name of what you need.
Who can use it
The command palette is available on the desktop shell view. Anyone signed in can open it; the actions you see inside reflect the modules you have access to.
Where to find it
Press the keyboard shortcut from anywhere in Nautis:
- Mac: Cmd + K
- Windows / Linux: Ctrl + K
A dialog opens in the center of the screen with a search field at the top.
Opening and running a command
- Press Cmd + K (or Ctrl + K).
- The palette opens with Type a command or search… focused.
- Start typing. Results filter in real time — by label, section, or keyword.
- Use the arrow keys (Up / Down) to highlight a result. The footer hints ↑ ↓ to navigate and ↵ to run.
- Press Enter, or click any row, to run that command. The palette closes automatically.
- Press Esc at any time to close without running anything.
Searching across modules
The palette groups results by section, so when you type a single word like "deck" or "lead" you may see multiple matches. Look at the section header (the small uppercase label above each group) to pick the right one — for example Navigation entries take you to a module, while Desktop entries trigger interface actions like toggling a window.
Searching inside a specific module
Each module also has its own search box on its main page (for example Search Events on the events page, Search documents and templates on the documents page, or filtering inputs inside Contacts, Leads, Notes, and so on). Use those when you want to filter the records inside one module rather than jump to a different area of the app.
Tips & limits
- The palette is the same on every page, so the shortcut works whether you are deep inside a task board or on the dashboard.
- Hover over a result to highlight it without using the arrow keys.
- If nothing matches your query, the palette shows No commands match that search. Try a shorter or different keyword.
- The palette is built for navigation and actions. It does not yet search inside individual records (for example the body of a note or a specific message) — use the module's own search for that.
Frequently asked questions
Cmd + K does not open the palette — why?
The palette is part of the desktop shell view. If you are on a mobile layout, or in a specific full-screen flow that captures the shortcut for its own use, it may not respond. Make sure you are on the regular desktop layout and that no input field has stolen focus.
Can I change the shortcut?
The shortcut is fixed at Cmd + K / Ctrl + K. There is no in-app keybinding editor.
Is there a separate shortcut for the app launcher?
Yes — Cmd + A (or Ctrl + A) opens the launcher when no input field is focused. The launcher is for switching between open apps and modules; the command palette is for running specific actions.
Why do I see fewer commands than my teammate?
The palette only shows actions you have permission to use. If a module is not enabled for your organization or your role does not have access, its commands will not appear in your list.
Does the palette search inside notes, tasks, or files?
Not yet. It searches the action and navigation list. To search the contents of records, open the module you care about and use the search box on that page.
