What it does
The notifications panel keeps you on top of mentions, task updates, document signatures, social calendar approvals, sharing invites, and other workspace activity. A bell icon in the top bar shows your unread count and a quick dropdown of the latest items, with a full page for searching and managing the rest.
Who can use it
Everyone who is signed in. You only ever see notifications addressed to you — they are filtered by your user account and your active organization.
Where to find it
The bell icon sits in the top bar of every page. Click it once to open the quick dropdown. To see the full page, click View all notifications at the bottom of the dropdown, or go directly to Notifications from the main menu.
Checking notifications from the bell
- Look at the bell icon in the top bar. If there are unread notifications, a red badge shows the count (or 99+ if you are very behind).
- Click the bell. The dropdown opens with the latest 10 unread items.
- The header shows the unread count or You're all caught up when the list is empty.
- Each row shows an icon, a title, a short summary, and how long ago it arrived.
- Click any row to jump to the page where the activity happened. The notification is marked as read automatically and disappears from the dropdown.
- To clear everything without clicking each one, hit Mark all read in the dropdown header.
- Click View all notifications at the bottom to open the full page.
Using the full notifications page
- Click View all notifications from the dropdown, or pick Notifications from the menu.
- The header shows the Notifications title and the current unread count.
- Two filters sit at the top of the list:
- All / Unread toggle — switch between every notification and only the unread ones.
- Category pills — narrow by Mentions, Tasks, Social, Doc Sign, Chat, Sharing, Scheduling, Billing, Security, or System. Click All categories to show every type again.
- Items are grouped by day under Today, Yesterday, and Older.
- Click any row to jump to where the activity happened. The notification is marked as read automatically.
- Click Load more at the bottom of the list to see older items.
Marking notifications as read
You have three ways to clear notifications.
- One at a time: click any notification row. Reading it counts as opening it.
- A specific batch: tick the checkbox to the left of each notification you want to mark. A Mark N as read button appears in the header — click it.
- Everything: click Mark all read in the page header (or in the dropdown header). This clears every unread notification in your current organization.
Switching organizations
If you belong to more than one organization, the notifications panel only shows activity for the one currently selected in the org switcher. Change the active organization in the sidebar and the bell badge and notifications list refresh to match.
Controlling which notifications you receive
To change which kinds of notifications get sent to you, open Account Settings, then go to the Notifications tab. From there you can turn individual categories on or off, and choose whether each one delivers in-app, by email, or both.
Tips & limits
- The bell badge counts up to 99+. If you see that, head to the full page and use Mark all read.
- New notifications arrive in real time — you do not need to refresh.
- Reading a notification in one place (such as a mention inside a task) marks it as read everywhere.
- Notifications are scoped to the organization you are working in. Activity in another organization shows up only when you switch to it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I delete a notification permanently?
There is no manual delete. Old notifications fade out of the list over time and are removed automatically.
I marked something as read by accident — can I bring it back?
Switch the filter from Unread to All and you will see it again. You cannot revert it to unread, but the action link still works.
Why am I getting notifications I do not want?
Open Account Settings → Notifications and turn off the categories you do not need. You can keep important ones (such as mentions) on while silencing routine ones (such as billing reminders).
Why is the unread count different in the bell vs. the page?
The bell shows your unread count for the active organization, scoped to the user-room broadcast. The page shows the same number — if they ever look out of sync, refresh the page once.
Can I email myself a digest instead?
Email delivery is set per category in Account Settings → Notifications. There is no rollup digest yet — emails arrive event-by-event when the toggle is on.
