What it does
Several Nautis modules let you generate a public share link so investors, advisors, or anyone outside your workspace can view a pitch deck, data room, investor snapshot, or other shared asset — without needing to sign up. You stay in control: every link can be password-protected, set to expire, marked read-only or downloadable, and revoked at any time.
Who can use it
Anyone who can edit the record they want to share. In modules with role-based permissions (Data Rooms, Pitch Decks, Brand Kit, Notes), the share button only appears when your role allows it.
Where to find it
Open the record you want to share (a pitch deck, a data room, a note, a brand kit, an investor snapshot) and look for a Share button. It usually opens a dialog with options for the link.
Sending the link by email
- In the share dialog, switch to Email invite.
- Enter the Recipient email (required) and an optional Recipient name.
- Add a Personal note that will appear in the email body.
- Set the access controls and expiry the same as for a regular link.
- Click the send button. Nautis emails the link directly and creates the share record so you can track it later.
Protecting a link with a passcode
- In the share dialog, set Access type to Private.
- A passcode field appears — type a code or click the wand icon to generate one.
- Save the link. The recipient is asked for the passcode the first time they open it.
- Share the passcode through a different channel (text, voice, separate email) so it does not travel with the link.
Managing or revoking a link
- Re-open the share dialog and switch to the Manage tab.
- You see a list of every link or invite created for this record: viewer count, last viewed time, expiry, access type, and a Revoked badge if it has already been turned off.
- Click Revoke next to any active link to disable it immediately. Anyone who tries to open it sees an "access revoked" message.
- From the Manage tab you can also see analytics — total sessions, time spent, slides viewed (for decks), and completion rate.
What viewers see on a public link
When someone opens a share link they go to a clean, branded viewer page outside your workspace:
- For a pitch deck, they see the deck in slide-by-slide form, with optional download and an analysis panel if you enabled it.
- For a data room, they see only the files or folders you marked accessible, with permissions you set (view-only or with download).
- For an investor snapshot, they see the snapshot summary as a public report.
- If the link is private, the first screen asks for the passcode before showing any content.
- If the link is expired or revoked, viewers see a friendly message telling them the link is no longer active.
Tips & limits
- Use a passcode whenever you share something sensitive — anyone with a plain public link could forward it.
- Set an expiry of 1 month or shorter for early-stage investor conversations so old decks do not stay open forever.
- Watermarks on a deck make it harder to repurpose screenshots without attribution.
- The Manage tab shows whether anyone has actually opened the link — useful for following up.
- Public share pages are marked noindex so they will not show up in search engines.
Frequently asked questions
Can I send the same link to multiple investors?
Yes — a single public link works for everyone you share it with. If you want per-viewer tracking, create one link per recipient using the Email invite tab.
Can I edit a link after creating it?
The Manage tab lets you revoke a link and create a fresh one. You cannot edit the URL itself or change its access type after creation.
What happens to viewers when I revoke a link?
The next time they refresh the page they see an "access revoked" notice. Anyone already mid-view loses access on their next interaction.
Is the share link the same as adding someone to my organization?
No. Share links give read-only (or download-enabled) access to a single asset. They do not create a user account or grant any access to the rest of your workspace.
Do shared analytics track personally identifying information?
Analytics track session counts, time spent, slides viewed, and completion — not the viewer's identity, unless you sent the link via the Email invite flow which ties views to the recipient address.
Where do I revoke every link at once?
Open the Manage tab inside the record and revoke each one individually. There is no bulk revoke yet — revoking is per-link to avoid accidental shutdowns.
