Pitch Deck Analyzer

5 min readUpdated

What it does

Upload your investor pitch deck as a PDF and Nautis runs an AI review across every slide. You get a readiness score, slide-by-slide feedback, storytelling and clarity notes, suggested investor questions, and a tracked link you can share with VCs.

Who can use it

  • Anyone in your organization with read access to the Pitch Decks module can browse decks.
  • Uploading a new deck needs create permission and a verified email.
  • The Pitch Deck Analyzer must be enabled on your plan, and the AI analysis features use some AI credits each time a deck is processed.

Where to find it

From the sidebar, open Pitching and click Pitch Deck Analyzer.

Step by step

Upload a pitch deck

  1. Click Upload Pitch Deck in the top right.
  2. In the dialog, drag your PDF onto the upload area, or click it to pick a file. Only PDF files up to 50MB are accepted.
  3. The deck title is filled in for you from the filename. Edit it if you want.
  4. Pick your Product Stage: Idea Stage, Pre Revenue, or Post Revenue. This helps the AI judge your deck against the right expectations.
  5. Click Upload & Process.

A processing dialog stays on top while Nautis works. You'll see status messages move through:

  • Uploading PDF file
  • Processing PDF and preparing for conversion
  • Converting slides to images
  • Extracting text content
  • Running comprehensive AI analysis

Larger decks take longer. Keep the window open until it finishes. When it's done, Nautis redirects you to the deck's analysis page.

If you upload the same PDF twice, Nautis recognizes it and loads the existing analysis instantly. You'll see a note that this is a cached result.

Step by step

View the analysis

After processing finishes (or by clicking a completed deck from the list), you land on the deck detail page. The header shows:

  • A circular Score out of 100 (color-coded green, blue, or amber).
  • The deck title, product stage, who uploaded it, the AI provider used, the upload date, and the slide count.

Across the top, you'll see tabs:

  • Overview — the headline summary, scoring breakdown, and key takeaways.
  • Storytelling & Clarity — how well your narrative reads and whether the message lands.
  • Recommendations — concrete suggestions on what to fix, slide by slide.
  • Idea Validation — runs a separate AI pass that pressure-tests your idea (market, demand signals, risks). Click Start Idea Validation if it hasn't run yet. It uses some AI credits and takes a couple of minutes.
  • Investor Questions — the questions investors are likely to ask, with hints for answers.
  • Slides — page through the actual slide images with the extracted text alongside each one.

Use the Previous and Next arrows on the Slides tab to step through.

Step by step

Share your deck

  1. On the deck page, click Share in the top right.
  2. The Share Pitch Deck dialog opens with three tabs.

Tab: Get link

Creates a tracked link you can paste anywhere.

  1. Pick Access Type:
    • Public — anyone with the link can view.
    • Private — viewers must enter a passcode.
  2. If you chose Private, type a passcode or click the refresh icon to generate one. Click the eye icon to show or hide it.
  3. Pick Link Expiration (Never, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year).
  4. Toggle Allow download if you want viewers to be able to save the PDF.
  5. Toggle Show readiness score if you want to expose the AI score and analysis to the viewer.
  6. Optional: type a Recipient name (helps you spot which link a viewer is on) and a Watermark that is burned into the viewer (a deterrent against screenshots).
  7. Click Create link.
  8. The success screen shows the URL. Click Copy Link.

Tab: Email invite

Sends an invitation email to a specific person with the link inside.

  1. Enter the Recipient email and optionally the Recipient name.
  2. Add a Personal note (shown in the email body).
  3. Set the same access, expiration, and permission options as the link tab.
  4. Click Send invitation.

Tab: Manage

Shows every link you've made for this deck, who it was sent to, whether it was viewed, and basic analytics (sessions, total time, average slides watched, last viewed).

  • Click the copy icon to copy a link again.
  • Click the shield icon to Revoke it (recipient loses access immediately).
  • Click the trash icon to delete a link and its analytics.

Other actions

  • Attach to Profile — clicks the button in the header to feature this deck on your public investor profile.
  • Export PDF — downloads a full report of the analysis as a PDF you can keep or share offline.
  • Retry analysis — on the deck card or detail view, if a deck failed, you can re-run the AI processing. This uses some AI credits.
  • Delete — only available while a deck is not yet in the COMPLETED state. Once analysis is locked in, you can't delete from the UI.
  • Refresh — on the list page, hit the refresh button to pull in fresh statuses while a deck is processing in the background.

Tips & limits

  • Maximum file size: 50MB. PDF only.
  • Decks are stored privately in your organization until you choose to share.
  • The AI analysis is one full pass on upload. To force a fresh re-run on the same file, use the Retry button on the deck card.
  • The Public option puts your deck behind only the link itself. Treat it like a public web page.
  • The score updates only after a new analysis run.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the AI analysis take?

Usually one to three minutes, depending on the slide count and current load. Keep the upload dialog open until you're redirected.

Why does the score feel harsh?

The AI grades against what late-stage investors typically expect. Pre-revenue decks usually score lower than post-revenue ones — that's normal. Look at Recommendations for the specific gaps and fix those first.

Can I edit the deck inside Nautis?

No. The analyzer reads your PDF and gives feedback. You make changes in your slides tool (Keynote, Google Slides, etc.), then re-upload.

Will investors see the AI score?

Only if you toggle Show readiness score on the share link. By default it's off.

Can I track who has viewed my deck?

Yes. Open the share dialog, go to Manage, and you'll see per-link sessions, total time, average slides watched, and last viewed time.

What if my deck has confidential numbers?

Mark the link Private, add a strong passcode, set a short expiration, turn off Allow download, and add a Watermark with the recipient's name. Revoke the link from Manage when you're done.
