GTM Planner

8 min readUpdated

What it does

Nautis GTM Planner is your go-to-market control room. Inside each GTM workspace you build a strategy (customer, positioning, value, pricing), turn it into a 30/60/90 roadmap, run a kanban board of tasks, design experiments, and track the metrics that matter — all in one connected place.

Who can use it

  • Any teammate whose role has the GTM permission enabled.
  • The GTM Planner module must be turned on for your organization.
  • Each workspace has a Shared Access list — only people on that list (plus admins) can open it.

Where to find it

From the sidebar, open Strategy & Planning and click GTM Planner.

Step by step

Create a workspace

A workspace is a self-contained GTM plan — for example, "2026 Growth Strategy" or "Enterprise Launch".

  1. On the GTM Workspaces page, click New Workspace in the top-right.
  2. Enter a Workspace name (for example, "2026 Growth Strategy").
  3. In Shared Access, pick the team members who should be able to open this workspace.
  4. Click Create Workspace.

Nautis takes you straight into the new workspace, starting on the Strategy tab.

Step by step

Open or edit an existing workspace

  • Click any workspace card to open it.
  • To rename a workspace or update who has access, click the pencil icon on its card, change the details, then click Save changes.
  • Use the search box at the top to filter by workspace name.
  • Each card shows status (Not Started, In Progress, On Track, Needs Attention), a health score out of 100, the current phase (30 / 60 / 90 days), and the created date.
Step by step

Get oriented inside a workspace

The workspace shell shows a tab bar at the top. Each tab is a different lens on the same plan:

  • Dashboard — overview with health, focus tasks, key metrics and strategy snapshot.
  • Builder — guided AI-first wizard that builds your whole strategy step by step.
  • Strategy — the canvas of ICP, positioning, value stack, messaging, risks and competitors.
  • Roadmap — your 30/60/90 day phases broken into weekly tasks.
  • Tasks — a kanban board for execution.
  • Experiments — running, completed and planned growth experiments.
  • Metrics — the numbers you're tracking (with targets and snapshots).

Click Back to Workspaces (the arrow on the left of the header) to leave a workspace and return to the list.

Step by step

Dashboard tab

The dashboard is read-only. It summarises everything else in the workspace.

  • Health score — a single number out of 100 that combines completed tasks and tracked metrics.
  • Current phase — which of the 30 / 60 / 90 day phases you're in.
  • Focus tasks — up to three tasks marked This Week or In Progress, sorted by due date.
  • Overdue counter — how many tasks are past their due date.
  • Strategy snippet — your ICP summary, primary channel and pricing model at a glance.

When something looks off (red health, overdue tasks), the dashboard nudges you to the right tab.

Step by step

Builder tab — let AI draft your strategy

The Builder is a guided wizard with these nine steps:

  1. Customer — who you're selling to first.
  2. Problems — the pains they face today.
  3. Solution Mapping — pain to solution to feature.
  4. Value Stack — outcome-focused value propositions.
  5. Positioning — how you'll be remembered.
  6. GTM Execution — channels and pricing.
  7. Competition — why you win.
  8. Risks — honest GTM risks.
  9. Launch Plan — 30/60/90 plan with tasks.

How to use it:

  1. Click the Builder tab.
  2. Use the left rail to jump between steps, or click Next at the bottom to walk through them.
  3. Each step has an AI Draft bar — type a short prompt about your product and click to generate. The AI fills in suggestions you can edit.
  4. Use the AI Rewrite button next to any field to ask the AI to polish what's there.
  5. Click to save the step. The number turns green and the progress bar at the top fills up.
  6. When you've finished, open Full Strategy to review the whole document, then choose whether to apply it (which updates the Strategy tab and creates the Launch Plan tasks).

AI generation uses some of your organization's AI credits.

Step by step

Strategy tab — edit the canvas by hand

The Strategy tab has six sections in the left rail:

  • Ideal Customer Profile — who you sell to, their context and outcomes.
  • Positioning — the one-line statement, target countries, market category, differentiation.
  • Value Stack — key features and value propositions, each with a description.
  • Messaging — pain points and matched solutions.
  • Risks & Considerations — each risk gets a title, impact (High / Medium / Low), type (Execution, Technical, Financial, Marketing), and a mitigation plan.
  • Competitor Analysis — each competitor gets a name, their solution and their positioning.

How to edit:

  1. Click a section in the left rail.
  2. Use the inline inputs and "Add" buttons to add items.
  3. Edit existing entries by clicking them; delete with the trash icon (a confirm dialog protects you from accidents).
  4. Changes save automatically.

You can also export the strategy as a PDF using the strategy PDF button at the top of the page.

Step by step

Roadmap tab — plan 30 / 60 / 90 days

The roadmap turns strategy into weekly actions.

  1. Open the Roadmap tab.
  2. Pick a phase — 30 days, 60 days, or 90 days.
  3. In the Plan a Task panel, choose the week (Week 1, Week 2, etc.), type the task, and press Enter or click the + button.
  4. Tasks for that phase appear grouped by week. Tick the box on any task to mark it ready to promote.
  5. Once you've ticked the tasks you want to start executing on, click Convert selected to move them onto the Tasks board.
  6. Edit any task by clicking the pencil icon next to it; delete with the trash icon.

You can also write a Goal and Success criteria for each phase so the team knows what done looks like.

Step by step

Tasks tab — run the kanban board

The Tasks tab is where execution happens.

  1. Open the Tasks tab. You'll see four columns: Backlog, This Week, In Progress, and Done.
  2. Click Add Task in the top-right.
  3. Fill in:
    • Title — name the task.
    • Notes / Results — context or expected outcome (optional).
    • Status — which column it lands in.
    • Category — Research, Outreach, Content, Experiment, or Not set.
    • Launch Phase — Pre-launch, Launch, Post-launch, or Not set.
    • Deadline — pick a date from the calendar.
  4. Click Add Task.

Once tasks exist:

  • Move a task between columns by dragging the card.
  • Open a task by clicking it — you can update results, change status, change category and phase, set or clear the deadline.
  • Delete from inside the task dialog.
  • Use the Search, Category, Phase and Due filters in the toolbar to narrow the view. Clear resets all filters.

Tasks that are past their deadline (and not Done) show an overdue badge.

Step by step

Experiments tab — design and track tests

Experiments are growth or messaging tests you want to learn from.

  1. Open the Experiments tab.
  2. Click Add Experiment.
  3. Write your hypothesis using a prompt like, "If we do X, we expect Y because Z."
  4. Choose a Channel (from the list or type your own), a Phase (Pre-launch / Launch / Post-launch), and the Metric you'll measure.
  5. Add a budget if there is one.
  6. Click to save. The experiment appears as a card with status badges.

Or click AI Suggest in the top-right to have the AI propose experiments based on your strategy. AI Suggest uses some AI credits.

How to track an experiment:

  • Click a card to open the details dialog. Update status (Draft, Testing, Won, Lost, Learnings), record what you learned, and link the metric snapshot.
  • Use the filters in the toolbar to view by Status, Channel or Phase.
  • The header strip shows quick stats: Active, Wins, Fails, Learnings.
Step by step

Metrics tab — track traction

The Metrics tab is your traction dashboard.

  1. Open the Metrics tab.
  2. On the right, browse the metric library. Click Add next to any metric to start tracking it.
  3. To add your own, click Add Custom and fill in a metric name and metric key.
  4. Each tracked metric appears as a card.

How to log progress:

  1. Click the + icon on a metric card to open Add Metric Snapshot.
  2. Pick the metric (or it's locked to the one you clicked), enter the Value and a date.
  3. Click Add Snapshot.

How to set a target:

  1. On the metric card, open the three-dot menu.
  2. Click Set target.
  3. Type the target value and save.

You can also edit or delete snapshots from the card. The summary at the top tells you how many metrics have targets and how many were updated in the last 14 days.

Tips & limits

  • One workspace = one go-to-market plan. Use multiple workspaces if you have different product lines or segments.
  • The health score updates as tasks get done and metric snapshots are added — keeping both fresh is the fastest way to a green score.
  • Builder is the quickest start, but you can always jump into the Strategy tab and edit by hand later.
  • AI Draft, AI Rewrite, AI Suggest and the Builder's AI all draw from the same shared AI credits pool.
  • Use the Roadmap's Convert selected to push weekly actions onto the kanban board so you're not retyping them.
  • The Shared Access list controls who can open a workspace; admins always have access.

Frequently asked questions

Should I use Builder or edit the Strategy tab directly?

Builder is great for a first draft — it walks you through every section and uses AI to fill the gaps. The Strategy tab is best for polishing, ongoing updates, or skipping straight to a specific section. Both edit the same data.

What happens when I "Convert selected" tasks from Roadmap?

The chosen weekly actions are copied onto the Tasks board (in the Backlog column) so the team can start executing. The roadmap entries stay where they are, so you keep the planning view intact.

How does the health score work?

It blends two things: how many tasks are Done and how many metrics have recent values. Add and complete tasks, log metric snapshots regularly, and the score climbs.

Can I move a workspace to a different organization?

No. Workspaces belong to the organization where they were created. If you need the same plan elsewhere, recreate it manually.

Why can't I open a teammate's workspace?

Either you're not on its Shared Access list, or your role doesn't have GTM permission. Ask the workspace owner to add you, or ask your admin to update your role.

Can I export the strategy?

Yes. Inside the Strategy tab there's a PDF export button that renders a clean version of all six strategy sections.
