What it does
A shared library of business documents and templates — pitch decks, financial models, legal forms, HR templates, marketing assets, and more — that you can preview, download, and upload yourself. Documents are grouped into categories curated by Nautis and your organization.
Who can use it
Anyone with read access to Documents can browse and download. Uploading a template is available from the same page for users on your team who want to share their own resources internally.
Where to find it
From the sidebar, open Resources & Learning and click Documents.
Browsing documents
- The page opens with the full library showing as a grid of cards, 18 at a time.
- Each card displays the title, category tag, a short description (in quotes), a file-type icon, total views, total downloads, and who uploaded it.
- Scroll to the bottom of the grid to automatically load more documents.
- Click Refresh in the top-right to pull the latest documents from the server.
Filtering by category
- Open the filter panel on the left. On mobile, tap Filters in the header.
- Under Categories, click any category name to show only documents in that group. The count next to each name tells you how many documents are in that category.
- Click All Categories to clear the filter and see everything again.
- The list header updates to show the active category name and the result count.
Searching for a document
- In the search box at the top of the filter panel, type any part of the title or description.
- The list updates as you type. The header changes to Search Results (N).
- Click the x inside the search box to clear the query.
- You can combine search with a category filter to narrow further.
Downloading a document
- Hover over a card. The Download button appears at the bottom of the card.
- Click Download. The file saves to your computer using the original filename.
- A toast notification confirms Download started.
- The download counter on the card increments so others can see which templates are popular.
Uploading a template
- Click Upload template in the top-right of the page.
- Fill out the form:
- Title — name your template (required, up to 200 characters).
- Description — a short summary of what the template is and when to use it (optional).
- Category — pick which library section it belongs to (required).
- File — drag and drop a file into the upload zone, or click to pick one from your computer.
- Supported file types: PDF, Word (.doc, .docx), Excel (.xls, .xlsx), and PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx).
- Maximum file size is 50 MB.
- Click the upload button to submit. The new template appears in the library once it is processed.
Sharing a document
There is no built-in public share link for a document template. To share a document with someone:
- If they have access to your Nautis workspace, tell them which category to look in and the title to search for.
- If they are outside Nautis, click Download to save the file, then send it to them through email, chat, or a data room.
For external sharing with tracking, upload the file to Data Rooms instead and use the share-link options there.
Tips & limits
- File icons are color-coded so you can spot the format at a glance — red for PDF, blue for Word, green for Excel, orange for PowerPoint.
- The library counts views and downloads per template so you can quickly see which templates are most useful to your team.
- Files you upload count toward your organization's storage quota. See Storage Usage for limits.
- Categories are managed centrally. If you need a new category, ask a workspace admin.
Frequently asked questions
Can I edit a template after uploading it?
The library does not have an in-place editor. Download the template, edit it locally, then upload a new version.
Can I delete a template I uploaded?
The main library view does not show a delete button. If you need to remove a template you uploaded by mistake, ask a workspace admin to remove it for you.
Why can I not preview a document in the browser?
PDFs, images, and plain-text files can be previewed inside Nautis. For Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files you will need to download and open them in their native app.
What size files can I upload?
Up to 50 MB per file. For larger files such as a full investor data set, use Data Rooms instead.
The page says "No Documents Found" — why?
Either the active category has no templates yet, your search query did not match anything, or the library is empty for your organization. Click All Categories and clear the search to reset.
